Breaking Dawn

Tonight I went to the movies and saw Breaking Dawn part 1 with a bunch of friends. We had a blast! And I do believe that this is the best movie of the franchise to date. They have obviously put more money into this one which was very nice to see. It's scary to think what it would have looked like with out the backing of money! So we all left asking "do we really have to wait another year for part two?"...Yes apparently we do..

BzzAgent: Kroger's The Truly Awesome™ Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies

I got my new campaign Bzz kit in the mail yesterday. Here's what it looked like

It came with coupons, the Bzz guide and two boxes of cookies. I have to tell you they are very yummy! HUGE chocolate chips. We haven't tried them warm like the card suggests but I'm sure we will get to that...if my kids (and by that I mean my husband too) will stop eating them.

*I was supplied with this product because I am a Bzz Agent. I was sent these products to try.

OPI Nice Stems swatches

I got this mini-set for a great deal recently. I love the minis because I never ever 'finish' a polish and I hate wasting. From left to right we have Play the Peonies, I Lily love you, Be a Dahlia Won't You, and Come to Poppy.

Play the Peonies is a pale pink. Can be a bit streaky. I did two coats and probably could have used a third. It is a very nice, understated neutral color. This was a bit of a rush job as I was going out the door so its not as clean as I'd like.

Here's is I Lily Love You over two coats of Play the Peonies. I Lily Love you is a sheer pink with small glitter and bigger glitter chunks.

Be a Dahlia Won't You is my favorite of the group. It's a bright fuchsia sparkler. Gorgeous!

I ran out of fingers and didn't want to take away all this work so I painted my daughter's nails for the last swatch. This is Come to Poppy. A pretty coral color.

e.l.f. haul!

A while ago I was looking for makeup for a "Party like a rockstar" bunco. I bought a $1 e.l.f. eyeshadow compact because who cares about the quality for just a fun night! It also helped that it had great colors. It's labeled 'Brightening Eye Color'. I bought it for the pink shade at Target.

It worked better than I hoped! So I signed up for their emails and also bought their $1 eyebrow-mascara clear gel. I was pleasantly surprised by how much the eyebrow gel changed my look. I have one eye brow that has always given me an issue. It has some unruly hairs that I have trimmed and in desperation plucked. This really helped keep them in place!

I got a coupon emailed to me that was too good to pass up so I placed an order. I believe the coupon was for 50% off any e.l.f. studio line. They have three different lines: Studio, mineral and essential. I placed an order that totaled $27 and here's what I got

I bought (from l to r, bottom row then top) Eye Primer & Liner Sealer, Glitter Gloss in Glam Guava, Endless Eyes Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palette in Everyday Classics, Makeup Lock & Seal, Daily Brush Cleaner, Eyeshadow C Brush, Tropical Teal, Matte Charcoal & Innocent Ivory loose eye shadow powders and Makeup Mist & Seal. The only product that I have yet to try from this group is the Lock & Seal.

I have been thoroughly pleased with every product! My favorite is for sure the Daily Brush Cleaner because I am such a slacker about cleaning my brushes as I should. The Eye Primer & Liner Sealer is fabulous! The Sealer end turns any eye shadow into a liquid eyeliner! The C brush is also very good. No bristle loss and its much better quality than brushes which I have paid way more for. The eyeshadow palette is hit or miss. There are some colors that have a rougher texture and some that aren't pigmented enough for my taste. For the price of $5 for 32 shades it is well worth the price.

PEOPLE Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive is...

Bradley Cooper! What do you think? Honestly I was thinking it would be Ryan Gosling and not just for my own feelings lol. He has had a HOT year. Crazy, Stupid, Love, Ides of March and Drive. Come on! Not that Cooper isn't easy on the eyes. I would love some more diversity on their list too. Well at least it's not another Ryan Reynolds as it was last year. That one I didn't get at all.

You have never seen a nail polish like this..

I heard of this amazing holo polish by a brand called Nfu Oh. The color is 061. Holo is short for holographic and you can imagine what that looks like in a polish! There are many that claim to be holos but never ever do they look like this:

This was of course with flash so you can see what this baby looks like in the sun. It is ah-mazing! It is true what people say about this polish: you will catch yourself staring at your nails! In fact when my order finally came in (I spent quite a while on a wait list) I ran over to show my neighbor. It's a bonus that the bottle is so cute. It's made to look like a corset!

Here are the things about this lovely beauty:
 1) you MUST also purchase the Aqua base or it will be a streaky mess. You can make do with doing a few coats but it won't ever look the same. I tried it with bare nails and different base coats. It never comes out right.

2) It is frequently sold out. It is that good! In fact I was on the wait list for a while for the polish, it came in and I stayed on the wait list for the base. So back to number one, trust me I tried to find an alternative to the base! Also it is apparently only available at one company in America. It helps that they have fabulous (haha pun intended) customer service. Shipping is free after something like $25.

3) It flakes quickly. That's a bummer but for this type of holo I will endure it.

I purchased this polish for $12.50 at http://www.fabuloustreet.com

BzzAgent: Fekkai hair products

Have you ever heard of the BzzAgent website? They are a "social marketing company". In layman terms they send their BzzAgents products to try out. These products are called 'campaigns'. In return we Bzz about them to our family and friends. This may mean I hand out coupons or samples for the particular product and let them know what I think. I've been doing this for a few years and its quite awesome!

Right now the campaigns I have are:
Fekkai hair products
Purell
Green Mountain Fair Trade Coffee
Burt's Bees Natural Skin Solutions
John Grisham

Now on to some Bzzing!

Here is a picture of the Fekkai Bzz kit

The Fekkai hair products are amazing. I got the volume shampoo and conditioner along with samples of the glossing cream. I love love them all. Seriously the night I used them my husband commented on how soft my hair was! It also made my hair look great. The bad thing about this campaign is that it didn't come with any coupons. These packages usually do. When I saw the prices at Target I really wished it would have. It is a bit pricey at $22 a piece. Because of that I wouldn't make it my go to line for everyday use. I do love the glossing cream and will probably still buy that. Maybe I will get the shampoo and conditioner and just ration it out!

*I was supplied with these products for free by BzzAgent. The opinions listed are my honest feelings about the products.

Dream Machines

The other day we were on post when the kids pointed out a new kiosk. My son went over to check it out. It was the Dream Machine. Have you ever seen these? I had never heard of them! It is a recycling kiosk by Pepsico!! They recycle bottles and cans. Two wonderful things about them (besides the obvious saving the environment thing) is 1) they donate to Veterans causes and 2) there is a reward system!

You create an account, scan in your bottles or cans and keep track of it online. When you build up so many points you can get rewards in your community. This is a new program and we are in a small area so rewards are limited. My reward for using this machine is helping the environment and contributing to veterans causes. Its a win win!

Check it out.

A little about me

So the first thing I do when reading a blog for the first time is go all the way back to the first post. I do this to learn about the author of the blog. I like to know the background!

Here's my background: I am a mom and Army wife. I just finished my BA in Social Sciences with a concentration in Poli Sci, Hist & Soc. I am not an English major and not a writer. You will see grammatical errors and that's fine with me!

I love makeup. I love nail polish. I love shoes. I am one of those people that needs to know about things quickly. I am not usually brand loyal and play around with new beauty products frequently. I am also not a makeup snob. I have $1 ELF makeup next to my Nars blush. I will try most anything once!

I have three Hollywood crushes. First and foremost Prince who I have been in love with since I was six years old. That's kind of pervy isn't it? LOL I'd like to point out that in my dreams he is at least 6 foot tall because I am a tall girl! Second Michael Buble. He had me at the 'Me and Mrs Jones'.  I had the honor of taking my Mom to his Crazy Love tour last year. It was a blast! Lastly two words: Ryan Gosling.

My girl crush: Emily Blunt. I adore everything about her.

My friends frequently text or Facebook me with their celebrity questions. Why do I keep up so much..I have no idea. It's just good fun. My most favorite gossip blog is Lainey Gossip. Love her so much.

I use LOL a lot as well as smiley faces. I will try to keep them to a minimum.

So this is me and all that has shaped this blog :)

Here I go!!

I've talked about doing my own blog for a while now. With the encouragement of my amazing friends I decided to give it a go! So here it is. I imagine this to be about all the material things that make up my world! I have a love affair with nail polish at the moment. Slightly behind that would be shoes and makeup. Mixed in there somewhere, I have to get my daily fix of Hollywood happenings. So welcome to my world and all that I am/was Jonesin' for!

Some of the products were provided to me free of charge from BzzAgent and some I brought myself. No matter what I will always give my honest opinion on the products mentioned.
